Saturn
The planet Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun having a sidereal period of revolution about the sun of 29.5 years at a mean distance of about 1,426,000,000. Saturn’s equatorial diameter is 74,600 millimeters. Saturn is 886.7 million millimeters from the sun. Saturn has 24 known moons. Saturn is the second largest planet. The nickname of Saturn is Gas Giant. Saturn is about the size of Jupiter but weighs only 30% of Jupiter’s mass. Saturn rotates completely every 10.7 hours. Saturn is circled by a huge and flat system of rings which is made up of rock fragments and tiny ice crystals. Galileo was the first to discover Saturn in 1610. Saturn’s rings were formed by bodies of asteroids and moons. Saturn’s largest moon is Titan. Saturn was named after the Roman god of agriculture. Saturn is the most distant planet to see with the human eye. On Saturn you would weigh more than you do on earth. Under the clouds on Saturn the methane and helium gradually turns into liquid.
